Does an HPLC percentage prove peptide identity?
No. HPLC separates detected components under a stated method and reports relative peak area. It can support a purity assessment, but molecular identity requires separate evidence and the result applies to the analyzed sample, not every batch.
Method context matters
Column chemistry, mobile phase, gradient, wavelength, integration, and sample preparation affect the chromatogram and its interpretation.
Peak area is not net content
Relative chromatographic purity and the amount of peptide in a vial are different measurements. Do not treat one as the other.
