Analytical guide
What can mass spectrometry confirm about a peptide?
Mass spectrometry compares observed mass-to-charge signals with the expected molecular mass. It can support identity, but it does not by itself quantify chromatographic purity, sterility, endotoxin, or net peptide content.
Expected and observed mass
A report should provide enough context to connect the observed signal to the expected molecular species and charge state.
One method, one question
Identity, purity, content, and microbiological attributes are distinct questions that require appropriate methods and sample controls.
Use the source record
Analytical conclusions are limited to the sample, method, and report. Browse the COA library to match a released lot to its source PDF.
